My van is here!!! I'm so excited to be able to come and go as I please from this house! I love being here and I love my family, but having my van opens up so many more shopping possibilities! Okay, so I'm fairly broke from the several, SEVERAL trips to Walmart and Kohls, but I'm still going and looking at stuff and pretending we aren't at broke level yet!
Places we have shopped....I have been to Walmart, Kohl's, Target, Best Buy, and Burlington Coat Factory. I know that doesn't sound like a lot but when you add that to the sight seeing, dining out, and jetlag we have also been "enduring", it adds up to way more money than we should have spent!
Places we have eaten....We went to Jake's Grill the first night we were here, then we went to McDonald's and Culver's (more than once!), we have tried to make it to this place in Zion (not too far from here) called the Marina but it is always packed, same goes for Olive Garden. We finally made it to the Steak N Shake yesterday, which was awesome!!! Love those Steakburgers! My boys convinced their Grandma to go Ice Skating for the first time in over 35 years....That was very awesome! She never left the wall, but she never fell either, so that's great too! The boys loved ice skating, even though they couldn't stay on their feet for long! They are already wanting to go again. They also are excited because we have plans to go enjoy Six Flags Great America on Tuesday. They spent the whole of Church filling in the Sunday School Teacher on all the things they are going to do! They can't wait!
Places we have seen......Actually, this isn't that full of an area but we are working on it! We did manage to go down to Chicago on Friday and go to the Museum of Science and Industry. The boys thought that was the greatest thing in the world! Other than Six Flags, we don't have any special sights planned for this week. We are going to Michigan this weekend coming to see my Oma. I can't wait. She is in the hospital again because her kidneys are shutting down for some curious reason. We are hoping she will be up for visitors when we get there. :o(
We will visit the Brookfield Zoo on the following Saturday.
I'm glad we are spacing activities out because I have been 1000% exhausted the last few weeks. All the stuff we have been doing has drained me seriously. I am finally over the bronchitis I had but I don't think everything is quite back to normal yet. BLAH!

Holy crap! At what point are you going to relax? I know that being in the states kicks but there has to be some down time too. After reading all you guys have been up to or are planning Im tired. At least you are having fun.

There are 2 more weeks of school but Mrs. Frost quit so there is a different young girl in her place until school is out. J and S went to the Eifel Zoo on friday and seemed to have a blast.

Life here is good. J got productive yesterday and cleaned S's room, the game closet and even the balcony. Miracles do happen.

Take care and enjoy having your van.

Ice Skating in May? Seriously? That rocks! Sounds like with family and activities you've hardly had a chance to relax! Take it easy! You'll get culture shock/vacation overload!!!
