So, I had a few fears about coming to the states. I was afraid we would spend more than we planned. DUH!!! Of course we did. I was afraid we would give in to alot of "I HAVE TO HAVE THAT!!!" We haven't actually fallen for that, so at least that one is good. One of the biggest of these fears was that we would relax on our parenting and allow the children to get away with murder because they are surrounded by relatives. Oops.
We went to the grocery store with my sister on Saturday night. Just A and I. So we are pushing carts and A is in the cart I am pushing and he wants that bag of "really cool" pretzels. I am telling him that there is enough stuff in our portion of the cart for now. So my 5 1/2 year old snot of a son looks at me and says "When I want something, people give it to me!" and crosses his arms and gives a little attitude shake of the head. **Jaw is dropping to the floor** I thought I heard him wrong so I asked him to repeat himself......and like a good little boy, he did. **Jaw hits the floor again** Who is this kid? I think we are creating a terrible monster.....

LOL kids are quite smart and if the little man feels people are giving him what he wants then it will so come back to Mom and Dad. The catch is we are smart enough to say no because unlike family and friends we will feel the repercussions of our actions. Andrew cracks me up!
As for your fears of moving to the states, I think when the initial joy and shock of what is available wears off it will all be normal and life will feel just like it was here. Okay except now you have the ability to get anything you want whenever you want it.
OMG That is too funny and soooo sad! I'm extremely worried about the same thing! --The kids getting what they want when they DEMAND it from relatives! UGH
