Due Dates are for Wimps!

First, I will tell you all that the baby is fine. I called my doc this morning like the ER told me to. Told my doc that I was supposed to see her tomorrow. She decided she didn't want to make it wait till then. So, they set up an 11am appointment today. I have a clot behind my placenta that is causing the bleeding and problems that I have been having. This can be a bad thing but at this point it is actually okay. Doc said the bleeding is good because if the clot weren't releasing the blood, it would be growing. And since it is between placenta and uterine wall, it would force a miscarriage if it grew. So, as odd as it sounds, the troubles I have been having are positive signs that this clot will heal up fine without issues. I have been put on Progesterone to help us keep this pregnancy. (apparently, it's been said that this hormone can do wonders in some cases of threatened miscarriage) So, overall, the baby is fine and mom can get off total bedrest! (even though mom is still not allowed to do much.....at least it's not NOTHING) YAY!!!

On to my post header.....I say due dates are for wimps cause we are having issues with determining one. The first ultrasound said we were 5 weeks and 6 days when we were supposed to be at 6 weeks and 4 days. The second ultrasound put us at 6 weeks and 6 days when we were supposed to be at 7 weeks and 3 days. This ultrasound has placed us at 8 weeks and 5 days when we were supposed to be at 8 weeks and 1 day. So, we are throwing out any idea of a due date and just saying "We are due in April" We will decide on a day when things get a little less confusing!

That is such wonderful news!!! I bet a huge relief! Will you still have to be on "partial" bed rest? I'm really glad your doc wanted to see you right away to check everything out!!!

Me too! It makes me like her even more! She is such a nice lady. Yes, I am still on restricted living. I'm not allowed to clean house much or do a lot of running around with errands. But at least I'm not stuck on the couch full time anymore!
