So, we visited my Great Uncle Hans and his wife, Ula for the weekend. It was a very fun time. We rented a car and left on Friday. We got in late and were sitting down to a late dinner. I asked A if he wanted to sleep with me in Tante Ula's waterbed. He was interested so that's what we decided. During dinner, he said "I can't wait for bedtime, Mommy" We all looked at him and asked why. He said "I just love swimming!" He thought by waterbed, we meant he was going to sleep IN the water! It was too funny!

On Saturday, we drove an hour from Tante Ula's house to the Chiemsee. King Ludwig II has a castle on an island there. We took the ferry across the lake to see the magnificent castle. It was definitely worth the trip. We enjoyed it! On the island, we hiked up to the castle and then ate lunch by the dock after. It was all awesome!

When we were finished taking the tour of the castle, we took the horse and buggy down to the restaurant instead of hiking. T and A were the only children on this particular ride so the driver let them ride in the front with him. They thought this was the coolest thing in the world! T grabbed the handrail and was proud of himself for holding on tight. A asked "What should I hold on to, Mom?" I told him to hold on to his brother. So, A put his arm around his big brother and rode that way the entire way down. It was the perfect opportunity to snap a shot of the two of them loving each other!

On the ferry to the other island, the boys wanted to know what it was like to ride on the outside of ferry. We had ridden inside up till this point. T spent most of the time watching the ducks that followed the boat and the wake that boat caused. T thought the boat ride was best thing ever!

This is just one of the many views from the ferry that was totally breathtaking! This was by far the most beautiful part!

After the Chiemsee trip, we went to Ula's sister, Otti, house. They have a river that runs through their yard and they catch whatever water life that lands in their net. Well, while we were there, they caught an Eel. Trevor was standing there while they were putting it in the bucket. He thought that eel was sooo cool! He asked if they could feed it. Otti's son turned around and told him "No....we can't feed it because we are going to eat it!" I have never seen a child go so white sooo very fast! He said "EEEEWWWW!!!!!! No way!!!! You can't eat that!!!! It's so nasty!!!!" He was very disgusted.

Overall, this was a very nice, mostly relaxing trip. My Onkel and Tante are very wonderful people and we are going to miss them alot. The boys just love them like another set of grandparents!

This is the best blog ever! So many great stories that the boys will love when they are older and now you will never forget because you have them written down. I LOVE IT!
Hehe "I love swimming", I cant stop chuckling about that one.

That is soooo cool! I didnt know you had family over here, have you visited them much? I have a few relatives around here too, even some American ones stationed at this base--but I've never met them. That trip sounds like a lot of fun!! I like the eel story, and I have to agree, EEEWWWWWW!!!! lol

We have been to Munich 3 times now. It is alot of fun going to see them cause they always find cool things to take us to do. The first time I went with the kids, they took us on this drive that takes you in a loop from Munich through Garmish, Austria to Innsbruck, and back down and around everything. It is sooooo BEAUTIFUL!!!
